Andy’s Writing Tips is a blog written to help students improve their written English. Each post introduces a writing technique, explains a particular sentence structure or clarifies a grammar rule and then provides a challenge to allow the student to put into practise what he or she has learned. Set up particularly for GCSE English students, it can also be of use to older or younger pupils, university students, aspiring writers and anyone who wants to improve the quality of their writing.
This blog does not offer ‘exam tricks’ or ‘easy steps to improve’. Such advice can be found in abundance on the internet and does, I suppose, have its place. What I hope this blog can help you do is improve different aspects of your writing, and thereby come out with better results, whether that means qualifications or results of another kind. I also hope you enjoy reading and taking up the challenges each post provides.
